After GMA made its localize version of Mexican telenovela Marimar,another adaptation from a foreign tv series will take place this time the hit Koreanovela My Name is Kim Sam Soon.
My Lovely Sam Soonor My Name is Kim Sam Soon (a direct translation of the Korean title) is a South Korean romantic-comedy series which was aired last 2005 on MBC TV which GMA-7 also purchased and televised in the primetime also that year.
GMA has chosen Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez to play the lead role of Kim Sam Soon a 29 to 30 year old, single and overweight girl, who doesn’t have a college degree but a patissier (pastry chef) with a Le Cordon Bleu (world’s largest hospitality education institution, teaching hospitality management and the culinary arts) certification while Mark Anthony Fernandez will play the role of Cyrus, the guy who owns the restaurant where Sam Soon works as a pastry chef. The remake will be directed by Dominic Zapata and Khryss Adalia.
Also included in the casts; Wendell Ramos as Harvey Kim Sam Soon’s ex-boyfriend, Dr. Hayden Kho as Henry Kim the doctor who will fall in love to HannahCyrus’ ex girlfriendto be portrayed by Nadine Samonte.
The soap is set to start in the primetime mid this year.

The teleserye that set to compete GMA’s Dyesebel is Anne Curtis mythical soap entitled Dyosa under the direction of Wenn Deramas. Anne will have three leading men, among the choices are ABS - CBN’s heartrobs namely Sam Milby, Zanjoe Marudo, Luis Manzano, Rafael Rosell, Jon Avila , Will Devaughn and Victor Basa.
Dyosa is about an eighteen-year-old girl living a normal life as a student, a part-time cosplay model and a loving daughter to her midget parents when she discovers that she is not an ordinary girl. A half-man half-goat appears before Dyosa on her 18th birthday to reveal that Dyosa is actually a goddess, a descendant of Mariang Sinukuan and Bernardo Carpio, who is destined to rule the world of the upper gods.
Dyosa has to make a choice: Will she heed the call of her destiny and save the dying world of the Philippine gods and goddesses and leave the life she has lived for 18 years? Or will she resist her new role as a goddess and give up her powers to stay in the human world with the mortal she loves?
It is set to capture our hearts in the primetime by June or July this year.
Kim Chiu, the first Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition winner got a shock of her life when she discovered that she was chosen to play the lead role in the local version of the hit Koreanovela My Girl during the Dream Big Kapamilya press con. ABS-CBN has secured the franchise for the 2006 hit Korean series My Girl from SBS South Korea. This is the first collaboration of the two giant television networks of the said Asian countries.
The role of Jasmine (Yoo Rin) which was originally played by Lee Da Hae, will be played by Kim Chiu while the rest of the cast is yet to be announced. While Gerald Anderson her onscreen loveteam will be portraying the role of Julian (Gong Chan) played by Lee Dong Wook in the Korean version and not Sam Milby as previously hummed.

But too bad to all the leading men of KC because there is no kissing scene in the four episodes, she revealed that she saves her first screen kiss in a bigger project.
